What is CPI?
CPI (Cost Per Install) is the standard metric for mobile user acquisition campaigns. It tells you how much you spend for each user who installs your app — directly linking media spend to app growth.
Worked Example
A mobile app campaign spends $25,000 and drives 5,000 app installs. CPI = $25,000 ÷ 5,000 = $5.00 per install. Gaming apps often target $1–3 CPI; fintech apps may accept $20+ CPI if LTV is high.

How do I improve my CPI?
Improving CPI requires a dual focus on quality and efficiency. For IN-GAME METRICS metrics, we recommend auditing your top-performing segments and re-allocating budget from underperforming areas to those with higher baseline CPI potential.
Is CPI a primary KPI?
While CPI is a critical indicator of regional performance, it should always be viewed alongside downstream metrics like ROI to ensure volume isn't coming at the expense of profitability.
